Why I love what we do
If you would’ve told me years ago that I’d be in the business of lighting people’s homes – and that I’d genuinely love it – I probably wouldn’t have believed you.
But here we are.
And the truth is, this business has become a lot more than just lighting.
It’s about how people feel when they pull into their driveway at night.
It’s about creating something they’re proud of.
It’s about making everyday moments just a little bit better.
And that’s what keeps me excited about showing up every day.
It started with a simple idea
Like a lot of businesses, this one didn’t start with some grand plan.
It started with a simple idea:
Do good work. Treat people the right way. Take pride in the details.
Over time, that idea turned into something much bigger.
The moment that changed how I looked at this business
There’s a moment that happens pretty often… and it never gets old.
We finish an install. It’s getting dark. The homeowner steps outside, and we turn the lights on for the first time.
And there’s always a pause.
Then you hear something like:
“Wow… I had no idea it could look like this.”
That moment right there: That’s what this is all about.
Because it’s not just about lighting.
It’s about showing someone what their home could be, and then actually bringing it to life.
That’s when it really clicked for me:
We’re not just installing lights. We’re creating an experience.
What makes this business different (to me)
There are a lot of companies out there that can install lighting.
But I’ve always believed that how you do the work matters just as much as the work itself.
For me, that means a few things:
1. The details matter
Anyone can put lights on a house.
But doing it the right way – with intention, balance, and restraint – that’s where the difference is.
Too much lighting looks harsh. Too little, and it doesn’t make an impact.
There’s a real art to getting it just right.
And we take that seriously.
2. The team matters
I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built.
These are people who:
care about doing things the right way
take pride in their work
and treat every home like it’s their own
That’s not something you can fake.
It shows up in how we communicate, how we show up on-site, and how we leave a property when we’re done.
3. The experience matters
One of the things I care most about is how people feel working with us.
From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, it should feel:
easy
thoughtful
and professional
No pressure. No shortcuts. No surprises.
Just a team that shows up, listens, and delivers.
Why I’m so excited for what’s ahead
I can honestly say this past year has been the best we’ve ever had.
And it’s not just because of growth. It’s because of what that growth represents.
More families trusting us with their homes.
More opportunities to do meaningful work.
More chances to raise the bar.
And I really believe we’re just getting started.
The opportunity in landscape lighting
What excites me most right now is what we’re building with Landscape Lighting Guys.
Because once you start seeing what lighting can do (not just during the holidays, but every night) it changes the way you look at your home.
A well-lit home feels:
more inviting
more complete
more alive
And once you experience that, it’s hard to go back.
Expanding what’s possible
We’re also continuing to expand what we can offer: From landscape lighting to permanent roofline lighting and premium outdoor audio systems.
But no matter what we add, the focus stays the same:
Do great work. Take care of people. Create something we’re proud of.
What this all means for you
If you’ve worked with us before, I just want to say thank you. Seriously.
It means a lot that you trusted us with your home or business.
And if you haven’t worked with us yet, here’s what you can expect:
We’ll listen before we recommend anything
We’ll design something that fits your home, not a template
And we’ll treat your property with care and respect
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just another project to us.
It’s your home, and it deserves to be done right.
One last thought
I think a lot of people underestimate how much their environment affects how they feel.
Lighting is one of those things you don’t always notice—until it’s done right.
And when it is, you feel it.
That’s why I love what we do.
Because it’s not just about making homes look better.
It’s about helping people feel better in the place that matters most to them.
