The Good Problem We Don't Take for Granted
Right now, our schedule is booked into early August. That is something we definitely do not take for granted.
This has been an unbelievable year for Landscape Lighting Guys. We have seen more interest, more leads and more homeowners reaching out than ever before. Our team has been working hard to keep up with the volume, and every week it seems like more people across the St. Louis area are starting to see the value of professional outdoor lighting.
That is exciting. It is also a responsibility.
As a growing company, I think it is important to be honest with people about where we are and what they can expect. We would rather be upfront than pretend we can magically squeeze everything in tomorrow. That is not fair to you, and it is not how we want to run our business.
We are busy because people are trusting us with their homes. They are inviting us onto their property, asking us to help them see what is possible, and investing in something that changes how their home looks and feels after dark. That matters to us.
For us, this work is not just about putting lights in the ground. We do not come out, count fixtures and rush to send a bid. We design experiences around your home, your property and the way you want to use your outdoor space.
That process takes time. It starts with a conversation – walking the property, looking at the architecture, noticing the trees, the pathways, the gathering spaces, the areas that feel too dark and the features that deserve to be highlighted.
That is why we encourage homeowners to start the process early. If you are hoping to have your home professionally lit before fall, now is the time to reach out. Not to create urgency for the sake of urgency, but because good work deserves the right amount of time and attention.
We are not trying to race to the finish line. We are trying to build a relationship, understand your goals and create something that makes your home feel special every time the sun goes down.
I also think our schedule says something about where the outdoor lighting market is heading in St. Louis. More homeowners are realizing that carefully crafted outdoor lighting adds warmth when you pull into the driveway at night. It makes a front entry feel more welcoming. It adds safety along walkways and steps. It brings out the architecture, the landscape and the details you may not notice during the day. When lighting is done right, it feels subtle. But it changes everything.
One of the biggest reasons we are growing is because our clients experience that difference firsthand. They leave reviews. They ask us back for additions. They trust us not just with the installation, but with the long-term care of their system. That means a lot to me.
I am also incredibly grateful for our team. None of this happens without them. Our technicians are doing everything they can to keep up with the volume while still protecting the quality of every install. They care about the process, the industry and creating a great experience for our clients. Our team has never been stronger and for that, I’m grateful.
As we continue growing, one of our goals is to become a true year-round outdoor lighting company. We are adding people, building capacity and preparing to keep serving landscape lighting clients through the fall and winter months. That also means continuing to support homeowners during the holiday season through our sister company, Santa’s Elves Holiday Lighting.
We want to keep growing the right way, with the right people and the right standards.
So yes, being booked out is a good problem. But it is not something we take for granted. It is a sign that homeowners are trusting us, and a reminder that we have to keep getting better as we grow.
If you are thinking about landscape lighting for your home this year, we would love to start that conversation. The earlier we can walk the property and design the right plan, the better the experience will be. Great outdoor lighting is not rushed. It is designed, installed and supported with care. And when it is done right, it changes the way you feel about your home after dark.
